Re:Evolution Media 2012 Talent Roster Mixtape | Drop Beats (or acid) not Bombs

I don’t normally promote the use of illegal substances on PTSL but… after listening to this mixtape I will say that the Re:Evolution Media experience would best be elevated by something psychedelic of nature. This mixtape displays the many artists that are on the Re:Evolution roster including The Nadis Warriors, Govinda, Kaminanda, Birds of Paradise (Bird of Prey + Gibson), D.V.S*, Desert Dwellers, Loyal Divide, LoBounce, Language Love, ishi, Indigo Uprising, wiZard, Ugly Lion, and the daring duo of Alex and Allyson Grey.

This music is a lot different than anything we’ve ever posted before really because its…. soo…damn… weird. Majority of the tracks on this mixtape are cool – some are too slow for my liking. My favorites are def the Harder, Better, Faster Stronger remix by Indigo Uprise and the SUPER mellow, middle eastern sounding “My Secret Room” by Govinda.

“Re:evolution media, LLC. promotes and produces live music experiences designed to expand consciousness and to connect performers and fans in the creative process. Music is the language of the universe, and as such, it serves as the ideal medium to catapult human consciousness beyond the conceptual boundaries of the written and spoken word. Re:evolution media, LLC recognizes the profound potential for transformational experience that arises with every live music performance, and we vitalize that potential through conscious intention in the promotion and production process. ”

Anyway you slice it, there’s going to be something that opens your eyes on this mixtape – if there isn’t, go ingest some fungus and see what happens.

Cheers.

Egyptrixx – Chrysalis Records (feat. Trust) | Chill Wave

I’m not really sure where the future of electronic music leads us but this song by Egyptrixx called
Chrysalis Records (feat. Trust)
is a interesting step towards a new type of music I wont mind hearing more of.
Egyptrixx’s bio says his music is “a shifting balance between melodic and dissonant, rapturous and antisocial.” Now magazine says it’s “dirty, sleazy bass-heavy club beats.”
Give it a listen and see what you think of it, reminds me a cleaner style of witch house

Throwback Thursdays | RIP Sarah Burke 4EVA

Just in time for Throwback Thursdays, I recalled some older tracks from my Soundhound history
give these a chance and see if you’ll like em, an eclectic mix of bangers. Im dedicating this post to Sarah Burke, not only does she rip it on skis she’s also a major hottie. She was the first woman to land a 1080-degree spin (three full rotations) in competition and won the 2007 ESPY award as Best Female Action Sports Athlete.

I give you… (drum roll…) Bronze Whale. Bronze Whale is… well one half JAQUES and the other half is some rando (who I cant name at this point in time.) This is a remix to Miike Snow‘s “Devil’s Day” and its pretty epic. Relatively intense piano to start, flanged drum beat to elevate, and resounding

Despite having followed NiT GriT for some time, I’ve never actually featured him on PTSL. This track, “Pizza Party” is certainly unique and is probably one of the more quintessential dubstep tracks we’ve posted in a long while. “A spectacular combination of NiT GriT’s legendary sound-design and exemplary melodicism is flawlessly fused with Stephan Jacobs

Chip Tha Ripper – Tell Ya Friends Mixtape| Sick New Hip Hop

Ohhhh shit… if it isn’t Mr. Raspy himself: Chip Tha Ripper. Chip Tha Ripper just released a new mixtape called Tell Ya Friends. Tell Ya Friends is not to be confused with your average low budget 10-minute-production mixtape; every track was produced by a different dude and believe me there’s some quality names involved.

So check it out… I’m not going to post the entire album because.. well I want to give you the best of the best. That said, you will find a link to download the entire album in this post. I will say this: the tracks that are ON in this mixtape are straight up LEGIT – the others are just average. My favorite is “Boomshakalaka,” it has some sick low end energy and will make a strong addition to my skiing playlist. “25 Wives” is a complete 180 from “Boomshakalaka”, but its got some super chill vibes that you all are going to serious dig.

This is a sample of Bassnectar’s forthcoming album, Divergent Spectrum, out August 2nd, 2011. Bassnectar’s “Upside Down” is obviously awesome and obviously super super wobbly. Tarik – Know Her Name (Music Video) : Chill Hip Hop Song + Video

Posted in Chill, Video by nick | Tags: , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a new music video for a chilled out track from Tarik, the Brooklyn based rapper. It’s off his T.R.I.G.S. Mixtape, which featured one of my favorite tracks of his  ‘Weatherman’. He’s a newcomer who’s got a mellow style the combines some singing and rapping, for a great blend. This track has a great mixture of his singing and rapping. It’s got chill chorus that works well with a acoustic guitar powered beat that has  summer vibe. The video is great done by Jon Kilmer. Check it out, chill, enjoy!

Daft Punk – Technologic (Scary Toys Remix) : Funky Electro Glitch Remix

Posted in Bangin by shorne | Tags: , , , , , ,

Electro producer Ftampa, the man who brought you the epic remix of Avicii’s Levels, has apparently taken a couple of his close friends under his wing with the result being Scary Toys. As expected, the sound is still pretty similar to that of Ftampa’s yet its got their own take on the up and coming Brazilian electro style. But not to mention it takes some huevos to remix Daft Punk. They leave just enough of the original track to take us back before breaking it down into some funky glitch filled bass! Turn it up and enjoy this electro banger!

Mike Stud – Happy Ending : Mellow Serious Hip Hop Video + Song

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a change of pace for college themed rapper Mike Stud.  He’s typically cracking jokes about partying or having fun, but this was one of his more serious tracks on his A Toast to Tommy. It’s a ballad highlighting three very serious tragic events of three different lives that have all effected Mike’s life. It’s got a mellow beat with a catchy piano line and a girl chorus that repeats throughout. Mike really has a great storytelling voice that’s enjoyable to listen to to. Check out the sad tales, enjoy.

Nero – Must Be The Feeling (Delta Heavy Remix) : New Electro / Moombathon BANGER Remix

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a fresh new remix of one of Nero’s recent tracks off their Welcome Reality album. This new remix of the track is a electro Moombahton track that’s got a real funky feel. It’s got a good cinemetic epic sounding intro, then it drops partially leaving you unsure if it’s really going to hit. Then it builds up until a massive Moomahton drop comes in full force. The vocals and rock vibe of the track work well with all the insane bass. Turn it up, enjoy!

Today I’ve got a real sick new mashup featuring vocals from one of Childish Gambino’s latest track ‘Heartbeat’, and the filthy electro house anthem ‘Slam the Door’ by Zedd. The result is an upbeat well done bootleg mashup that works very well. They don’t overuse the vocals, and only put them in at the perfect time, never clashing with the bass. makes a new track out of two. Turn it up, enjoy!

Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, and Digitalism – Syndicate Free Remixes : Filthy Electro/Moombahton/Dubstep Bangers

Posted in Bangin by shorne | Tags: , , , , , , ,

With the forthcoming release of the first person shooter Syndicate approaching, the creators decided to get some electronic heavy weights to do a few remixes of the games original 8 bit theme song, much like the most recent electronic album for the Mortal Kombat game. Needless to say they made some excellent choices. Skrillex, Flux, and Digitalism all transform the original into their very own unique take on the track. Flux and Skrillex both drop it down to that lower tempo with some Moombahton madness, as well as an electro remix from Digitalism that will get your fist pumping for sure. Enjoy these bangers and turn up the bass!

Super Mash Bros. – ¡Holy Guacamole! : New Electronic / Hip Hop Mashup

Posted in Bangin, Chill by nick | Tags: , , ,

Today I’ve got a new track from California based Super Mash Bros. There one of the bigger names in the mashup area, under Girl Talk. Well this first track shows that they’ve never lost their fantastic mashup skills. This is the first track off an upcoming Mile(y) High Club coming out soon. Like I’ve said before, there’s far too many mediocre mashup artists out there due to how easy it is to slap two tracks together, but actually making a good mashup like this one, does take skill.
