Reviewed: DJ King Tutt – Say Hello to the Bad Guy

DJ King Tutt

Last Friday, while I was basking in the warm glow of the Las Vegas sunshine, DJ King Tutt was back home here in Baltimore, holdin’ it down like I thought he would!  He just released his latest mixtape, Say Hello to the Bad Guy, and it is absolutely ROCKIN’!  Including nineteen tracks of electro house goodness, Bad Guy progresses really smoothly and keeps you steady groovin’ the entire time.  He says you can dance around or clean your house to this mix, but I’ma add a few activities such as driving around Baltimore with the windows down, gettin’ your steez proper for tonight’s outing, or just coolin’ out and bein’ awesome.  I’m particularly hooked on the synth-heavy “Yeah Yeah Yeah” by Spencer & Hill, the luv-anthem “My Feelings For You” by Sebastien Drums and Avicii and the optimistic “Beautiful People” track by Chris Brown and Benny Benassi.  Bad Guy is the perfect springtime release – high energy but not so much that you need to throw back red bulls to keep up.  Listening to this mix feels much like the way you feel on that spring day when it’s like, seventy-five degrees, the sun is shining, and there’s no humidity.  Nahmean?!  But I have a feeling this mix will stick around much longer than those fleeting springtime days. Grab Say Hello to the Bad Guy for free and then catch him on May 14th at the Paradox in Baltimore for the Deep Sugar party.

PS – As a lover of all things cute, keep your ears open for the most adorable drop by Tutt’s stepdaughter. :)
